About Me Hi, I'm Kinsey Brantley. I was born and raised in Chesterfield, South Carolina. I am currently a sophomore at the University of South Carolina Lancaster. I am working towards an Associate in Science, and I will begin working on my Bachelors degree in Exercise Science this fall. Being a lancer is something of which I am very proud. By choosing a smaller campus, I have been able to place my hands in many things that I enjoy and appreciate. I have had the opportunity to be secretary of the Student Government Association, Vice President of the Chemistry Club, a Peer Advisor Leader, a member of Research Club, and a first-string volleyball player. I have utilized my time at USCL to the best of my ability, and earning a Graduation with Leadership Distinction would be the ideal way to end this season of my life.
I am pursuing Graduation with Leadership Distinction under the research pathway. Pursuing GLD became a goal that I could not pass up. Once I realized that I was capable of doing this, I was all-in. Graduation with Leadership Distinction is an honor that I would be proud to earn. Having this distinction will further my understanding of science beyond what lecture classes can provide. Going to graduate school with undergraduate research experiences will give me a head start and confidence to succeed in my studies. I also believe having GLD under the research pathway on my resume will give me a competitive edge when applying to graduate school for physical therapy. I intend to graduate from the University of South Carolina's Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. This has been my goal since I was thirteen years old. My physical therapist established a new confidence in my abilities to perform as a student, an athlete, and an individual. I want to make a difference in others the way my physical therapist made a difference in me. Every day when I go to work, I want to motivate and inspire my patients. I want to provide them with the confidence and ability to live happily in the body they were given. I believe that GLD will mold me into a better professional in health care. Graduation with Leadership Distinction has enabled me to be aware of my personal values that create a desire in me to be the best version of myself every day. |
